• I'm very shy and worried about my body shape and that I won't look good on the photos!

  People come in all different shapes and sizes, tall, short, large and small. There is nothing anywhere to say that one is better than the other. Having confidence and believing in yourself is what makes fantastic pictures.

  The boudoir sessions are all about having fun, getting glammed up, dressed up and letting your hair down and forgetting about little insecurities. Treating yourself to new lingerie and beauty treatments before the session is a definite excitement and confidence builder!

• The ladies in your boudoir & glamour galleries are beautiful, are they professional models?

  The ladies featured in Emma's galleries are a mix of models (5%) and everyday women (95%). Emma photographs ladies of all ages and sizes for a variety of reasons.

  Emma is very experienced at working with people from a variety of different backgrounds and is able to bring out their confidence and beauty with her approach and style of photography. Retouching and effects are second to this, real beauty comes from within and that is why Emma's clients radiate!

  Emma's galleries will get updated every few months with new clients. If you have been a past client and wish to feature, please contact Emma.

• I need photographs for promotional use but I want my identity to be hidden and the emphasis on my body, can you do this?
  No problem, Emma regularly photographs clients needing exactly that.

• Who will be in the studio while I am having my photos taken? Can I bring a friend?

  There will only ever be Emma and the hair & make-up artist (if you package includes hair & make-up) in the studio while you have your session.

  If you would prefer a friend or family member to be present while you are being photographed, please bring a female chaperone as Emma operates a "female only" studio. Unfortunately a male presence can be a little distracting sometimes. It's much more relaxing for the client, Emma and the make-up artist if it's an all female environment while photography is taking place.

  Emma feels that boudoir photography is best without spectators and when other people are present at the sessions, regardless of gender, there more eyes watching and the client cannot fully relax, obviously wanting to make sure their chaperone is not bored (naturally) which then becomes a distraction itself. Out of all the session with and without chaperones, the results are far better when the client has been on their own, relaxed and giving their full concentration to the posing and situation.

• How much do I have to bare? / Can I have erotic photography if I wish?

  You can bare as little or as much as you wish. Emma has photographed her clients on the boudoir sets in evening gowns and jeans to nothing but a pair of gloves and a whip. Emma is fully aware that clients require different outcomes and styles to their images for different purposes.

  If you require a more risqué and erotic style to your images, that is no problem at all.

• I would really like to have the styling with my package but I'm worried that I won't look like me, please advise?

  Nina, Danielle and Mel are brilliant and will never do anything you don't require. They listen and fulfil the brief given by you... true professionals! They are all very experienced at hair and make-up styling and regularly Emma's clients are astonished at their skills and want to take tem home in their pockets!

  Hair and make-up is always styled as you require, so it can be as light and natural or as heavy and glam as you wish. If you need any help deciding on a look, this can be discussed with your stylist on the day.

• What do I need to bring? / Do you provide lingerie?

• Can you retouch my images and is the retouching included in your prices?

  Emma retouches and applies effects to any images you desire and it's all included in the product price. The only item that doesn't include retouching and effects is the session disc. Emma's new Artwork Service isn't to be confused with retouching/effects, this is a separate service for people who may require an image turning into a themed piece of artwork.

  Retouching is a very iffy subject and people either love it or hate it. Emma retouches images to each client's requirement whether it's the removal or this lump or bump, enhance that curve, tuck that in, smooth that out etc etc.

• How long do I have to wait to see my images?

  Please allow 7-14 working days for your images to be ready for online viewing as the developing and sample retouching is a lengthy process, the photography is only 10% of the job. Emma always aims to get images to clients ASAP but this can be up to 14 working days in very busy periods.

• What is this "Photographer's Choice Gallery" I keep reading about?

  After your session, all your images are digitally developed individually by hand. Emma will go through and pick out her favourites to retouch as an example of what is achievable on any photograph. These images will be placed in your "Photographer's Choice Gallery". Because everyone has different tastes when it comes to effects, Emma does a wide variety of effects per chosen image for you to choose from.

  Clients cannot possibly know how their images can be styled, therefore Emma prefers to spend time working on peoples images to demonstrate what can be achieved and thus resulting in her unique Photographer's Choice Gallery

• How long will it take for my products to be completed and sent?

  The length of time depends on the product selected. All time scales can be found under each product on the prices page.

• I would like more pictures than what I have in my package, can I add / buy more?

  You can buy as many as you wish, there is no minimum or maximum order.

• Will you travel to my house for a shoot?

  Emma chooses to photograph clients in her specially designed studio.

  Her style is vintage and luxurious and her studio offers the backgrounds, props and atmosphere for exactly that type of shoot and more. Having your photos done in settings that are not easily obtained in the majority of houses offers the client a great experience and very exquisite result.

• Do you offer a package that lets my partner be the photographer and myself the model?

  This is quite a common enquiry and unfortunately Emma doesn't offer this service.

  She is very serious about her photography and doesn't want to devalue it by suggesting people can get the same results that she works hours and hours to obtain, if they simply pick up her camera and use her studio. Special software is required to develop professional images and this is not readily available on the average computer.

  Emma is a professional photographer and her passion is photographing people and making them happy.

• My local boudoir photographer charges £100 for a days photo shoot and all my images on disc, will you price match or do TFP?

  Unfortunately Emma cannot offer her services for less than she charges or work for free. She has a great deal of overheads that need to be covered if she is to continue doing what she loves - boudoir photography!

  Emma limits her clients per week so she can deliver the best results possible and make sure each one gets 500%! The products and albums that Miss Boudoir® offers are very high quality which means they are expensive, there is nothing that can be done about the cost of high quality goods - you get what you pay for.

  Emma charges adequately for her time and service and then a very reasonable rate for products, you may find cheaper session else where but usually this is made up on product prices.

  At the end of the day, Emma will never opt for quantity over quality, she will always provide the best she can and will not lower her photographic standards and cost, to subsequently make more money and have more clients.

• I am interested in hiring your boudoir studio for commercial or personal use, is this something you offer?

  Currently, Emma's studio is not for hire to ensure her clients have her unique sets and style.

• Where are you located and what are your opening hours?

  Emma is open by appointment only which is to suit the client. Weekdays, evenings and weekends are available. Her studio is located in Mossley, Greater Manchester which is literally just under 13 miles from Manchester city center and about 16 miles from the center of Huddersield... and 8 minutes walk from the train station!
