I wasn't nervous at all when I approached Emma's studio as she was so friendly and professional throughout our email correspondence. Hair and make up was so professional, you really do get the movie star treatment!

A chance remark by my partner wanting a "sexy" photo of me got me thinking-if I'm going to do this for him I'm going to do it properly!  I'd heard about 'boudoir photography' but didn't know anybody who had had it done or where to go, so I started researching online.  I was prepared to travel as I thought if I was going to do this I wanted the best.

As soon as I saw the quality of Emma's' work I knew I wanted Emma to do my photographs.  The added bonus to me was that it was going to be a woman doing my photographs, I knew that I would feel more comfortable.

I had an initial consultation with Emma at her studio in an old converted mill, which to me already set the tone as it has a very special aura about it-as soon as you set foot in it you feel as if you are away from the real world, important if you about to embark on something that may be a bit out of character for you!!

Emma and I discussed my reasons for wanting the photos, she showed me more samples of her beautiful work and we discussed my fears, things like I'm a 45 year mother of four boys who no longer has a perfect figure am I mad to do this??!!  Emma couldn't have been more reassuring and once we had discussed hair, make up and suitable outfits for the shoot the date was booked!!

On the day of the shoot I was as you would expect both nervous and excited and although I knew Emma would make me feel at ease I hadn't reckoned on Nina, Emma's' fabulous hair and makeup artist-she had us all laughing from the minute she walked in-so that was the mood set-it was obviously going to be great fun!!

Every girl should have a Nina -my hair and make-up were gorgeous, sexy tousled hair and beautiful sultry make-up.

Although Emma had suggested practicing poses and facial expressions in the mirror at home before the shoot she still helped enormously with getting me in the right position-in fact it turned into a bit of a double act with Emma seriously good at the sultry look and pouting lips and Nina knowing all the sexy poses!!

The whole time I felt totally relaxed and the three of us hardly stopped laughing!  My confidence grew throughout the shoot and you can see this on the photographs, as we go along my facial expressions and positions look far more natural.

After the shoot I felt very proud of myself, I couldn't quite believe what I had just done, not just for the man in my life, but for me. 

The photos arrived online a couple of weeks later and are absolutely stunning-even though I say it myself I look amazing and although I know they have been expertly retouched by Emma I truly believe I look as good as the photographs because that is the confidence the whole experience has given me.

Emma has created a beautiful album of my favourite photographs which I absolutely love.  I think it's the ultimate gift a girl can give herself and if she chooses to, to the man in her life-what a lucky chap!!
