The Boudoir Process - What happens after I have booked my Boudoir Photo Shoot?

As soon as you are fully booked in you will get access to Emma's client website - Boudoir Backstage. This is jam-packed full of information and advice on hair and make-up, set list, colours, lingerie, props, styles, posing, tips and tricks etc so you are fully prepared for your photo shoot before arriving.

The BIG day -

The studio will be shoot-ready with the sets you've requested for your personalised photo shoot. Emma will do her best to cater for any special requests/sets/themes out of the ordinary.

Having arrived at the studio you'll have a chat to the stylist either Nina, Danielle or Mel (after the introductions, coat hanging and bag/case dropping has taken place) about your desired hair and make-up style while Emma makes the cups of tea/coffee or pops the cork on the bubbly.

Emma will be present throughout your hair and make-up styling so you can have a chat about what goodies you've brought, what sets they will work best on, props you may like to use and generally get to know her. If you require "fly on the wall" documentation of your styling that is no problem, Emma will be happy to photograph the stages of the styling, which is very nice for partners to see when they've bought the packages as a gift.

Once you are styled and polished, you'll be ready to embark on a unique and customised photo shoot with Emma who will provide constant guidance on poses, expressions and style throughout your shoot.

Following your photo shoot -

Your images will go through 3 stages before they are presented to you - sorting, developing and retouching.

Emma will sort through all the images from your session and select the keepers from the binners. The total amount of images developed for you to see will differ depending on the length of photo shoot you've had. Emma never under develops, expect far more than what is advised on the package contents - she believes in giving people a good choice and her client feedback echoes that.

These shots are then digitally developed by hand, one at a time (yes even professional digital images need developing). The next step is sample retouching and effects - Emma will spend time working on her favourite shots, retouching and applying a vast variety of effects for you to view as an example of what is achievable on any of your images.

Please allow 7-14 working days for your images to be ready for online viewing as the developing and retouching is a lengthy process, the photography is only 10% of the job! Emma always aims to get images to you ASAP but this can be up to 14 working days in very busy periods.

The much awaited results -

Emma will contact you via email with a link and login details to your personal website containing a Develops Gallery and a Photographer's Choice Gallery. The Proof Gallery will contain all the developed images from your session and the Photographer's Choice Gallery hosts Emma's retouched favourites. You can then choose your desired images, retouching style and products.

Products and timescales -

Firstly your selected image(s) need to be retouched to your specifications, uploaded to your personal website and given the thumbs up by you before going to the lab. All products have their own timescale and each can be found under the desired product on the prices page. This is the time you can expect the product to take from the time you give Emma the "thumbs up" after retouching has been completed.

Luxury Designer Albums -

If you choose to have the Luxury Album Package or decide to purchase one after your session, Emma will create a bespoke design with your image selection that is individually tailored to suit your style and needs. This can incorporate a lot of time if you decide you want to change layouts or add more pictures (Designer Albums only) so you should allow a minimum of 7 weeks in total for your album to be designed, retouched and made from the date you submit your chosen images to Emma.
