Emma's Unique Boudoir Studio - "female only zone"!

Emma’s extremely unique boudoir photography studio is situated in Woodend Mill, a 19th century cotton mill in the heart of Mossley, Greater Manchester. Her studio is specifically designed to feel like you are walking back in time into a luxury vintage parlour, a stark contrast to the working mill and surrounding rural countryside itself.

Not only does her studio offer the usual studio lighting, but a whole host of backgrounds including vintage wallpapers, satin backdrops, old rustic windows, contemporary metal, mill stone and a range of vintage furniture and props. If all that isn’t enough, literally on the doorstep is the Huddersfield Canal and The River Tame, presenting woodland, nature and a view of the Pennines. Emma's studio is literally just under 13 miles from Manchester city centre and about 27 miles from the centre of Huddersield... and 8 minutes walk from the train station!

The Story Behind The Studio

In February 2007 after much deliberation, Emma finally decided to upgrade to a bigger studio. She had been working from her home studio, undertaking head shots and model folios but desperately wanted to be able to take on a more feminine, exciting and rewarding type of photography - boudoir and vintage glamour photography!

Rather than kit it out her newly acquired space like a typical studio, she decided to make it truly vintage and unique, fully suiting it's purpose. It is now a parlour, a vintage parlour at that! A whole room that has furniture, mirrors, chandeliers, candles, cushions, feathers and antiques etc! She didn't want white walls, ikea furniture, a modern room with sets in the corner, she wanted to make it so everything could be used and no matter where in her studio you went or looked you still felt as though you had travelled back in time!
